FAQ

Vocal Mix or Tracked Out Mix?

Vocal Mix
These are usually done for HIp-Hop songs that are ready to go into the market.  These sessions come with the instrumental already mixed in a single file on your song.

Tracked Out Mix
These are usually done for songs that are ready to compete with major releases or big independent songs.  All genres benefit from this process due to the enhanced separation and detail in every track of your song from the instrumentation to the vocals.  All commercial releases go through this process.

How do I get my song ready for Mixing?

Session Prep

1. Make sure all takes are final.
2. Check that the vocal and instrumental arrangement is finalized.
3. Make sure your vocal or instrumental takes are not overlapping each other if the words run into each other.  Place those tracks on the track below for our engineers to blend.
4. Complete all of your Production and Post Production on your song.
5. Label all of your tracks so they are easy to identify by our engineers.

What is Production and Post Production?

Production and Post Production are two processes generally done by the producer of your music.

In the classical sense your Producer would be there to tell you to redo a take as many times as it takes to get it sounding the way his or her trained ear knows works the best on the final song.  Thanks to technology some parts of this process can be done on the DAW by your Producer after the recording process is complete during the “Post Production” phase instead of doing endless takes.

This process includes time correction, in depth pitch correction, adjusting vocal stacks, advanced vocal editing, adding drops in the beat, or changing the arrangement of the song vocally or instrumentally.  This adds an incredible amount of value to your music which is the process that all major songs go through.  Tracked out instrumental dry stems are needed as well as the vocal recording session or dry stems.

We offer these services for an additonal fee depending on the complexity of your song.

What is Mixing?

Mixing is the process that a song goes through to shape the sonics to go to the next level.

This process involves Equalization, Compression, Reverbs, Delays, Volume Adjustments, Panning, and Auto Tune to taste.

This process is designed to highlight the details that are supposed to stand out and take out the details that are building the best possible version of the song.

We deliver Mixes in 24 Bit 44.1hz at around -6DB to -3DB

How do I get my song ready for Mastering?

For our premium Mastering services, please deliver your Mixed WAV file in 24Bit 44.1Hz peaking at around -6DB to -3DB.

If we are also doing your mixing we take care of this part of the process.

Keep your mix buss processing bypassed unless it is very minimal.

PRO TIP | Send us a reference of a popular song which you would like to have us model for your music.

What is Mastering?

Mastering is the final step in the process before a song is ready for release.

This is where we bring out even more detail in your music while adding volume to taste.

We deliver Masters in 24 Bit 44.1HZ

What is Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio?

Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio is a premiere process where we mix your music or cinema sound to have an immersive experience on Apple AirPod Pro’s and similar products that can play surround sound information.

For the best results we recommend you sending in your session for us to Mix and Master your music to make your Dolby Mix translate as close as possible to the regular 2 track WAV Master.

If you are sending in your own mix to get up mixed into Dolby Atmos we will need the dry mixed stems (separate stems with all of your mixing effects on each track with no reverb.)

Some music platforms prefer this format and favor music that is distributed to them in this format for playlisting and in some cases an increased royalty rate up to 10%.

We deliver Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio Masters up to 7.1.4
